Annotated Bibliography Help
When students are asked to write an annotated bibliography, their first question is usually about the difference between a standard bibliography and an annotated bibliography. Well, to be honest, there are more similarities than differences. Each document is a listing of written works and other sources used in the writing of an essay, research paper, or other written work. One of the main purposes of a bibliography is to give proper credit to the writers and researchers whose information you have used to complete your paper. However, an annotated bibliography takes things just a bit further. An annotated bibliography gives the reader, and potentially future researchers about each source you have used, and the importance of that source in your research. You give your readers this information by including a written summary of the resource where you let them know about how the material was used in your research, any problems you found with the source, and how others might use the source in the future. If you write anything for publication, you will be expected to include annotations in your bibliography.
